Orienteering

Orienteering involves participants navigating their way around a course of designated checkpoints (called 'controls') using a map and compass.

Some of Canberra's parks feature permanent orienteering courses. These courses have been designed by volunteers and cater to a variety of skill levels. Courses are able to be used by the public.

Rogaining is a similar sport involving teams and long distances. Rogaines are generally day and night events using a map and compass.

Visit Orienteering ACT or ACT Rogaining Association to find maps and instructions.
