To get the most out of your visit to a park, reserve or waterway, it’s important to be prepared. Each park has different facilities, rules and possible hazards.

Get prepared by:

• checking alerts
• understanding safety in and around waterways
• understanding safety in and around the bush
• understand the Australian Walking Track Grading System
• understanding campfire guidelines
• knowing about access restrictions
• checking where dogs are permitted
• checking whether drone use is permitted
• understanding mobile phone reception limitations
• checking the recreational fishing rules
• making a booking
• applying for a commercial or recreational use permit (if required)
