Campfires

Campfires are only permitted in 4 protected areas in the ACT:

Campfires are also permitted at Woods Reserve and in several plantation forest locations, including Old Kowen Homestead and Blue Range Camp. These 2 sites are only available through bookings.

In a reserve where a campfire is permitted, you must:

  • bring your firewood with you
  • only use the constructed fireplaces provided
  • do not light a fire on a day of a Total Fire Ban
  • keep the area 3 metres around the fireplace clear of flammable material
  • remain in attendance at all times
  • completely extinguish the fire before leaving
