Planned Park Closures: Thermal Assisted Aerial Control (TAAC) Program

The ACT Parks and Conservation Service will carry out its annual Thermal Assisted Aerial Control (TAAC) program from Thursday 8 May to Friday 30 May 2025. This operation targets vertebrate pest species in key conservation areas, water catchments, and some semi-urban locations across the ACT. Park and reserve closures will be in place during this period for public safety.

Camping and cottage accommodation set within Canberra's natural parks and reserves

The ACT's camping and cottage sites offer a variety of facilities and natural beauty.

Camping in remote areas by bushwalkers is allowed in much of Namadgi National Park – check the walk-in camping options in the Namadgi National Park Brief Guide (5.5 MB). Vehicle-based camping is only permitted at established campgrounds.

Various huts within Namadgi National Park are suitable for day or emergency use only. If you plan to stay at a hut site, bring a tent.
