Molonglo Reach District Park

A peaceful urban park on the edge of Molonglo River

Molonglo Reach District Park is a narrow strip of riverside parkland between the Molonglo River and the Royal Military College, Duntroon.

The park offers good access to the bank of the river, making it great for a picnic, fishing and canoeing. It is filled with non-native deciduous tree species, which change colour in autumn.

The cycle path along Molonglo Reach connects with the walking/cycle path encircling Lake Burley Griffin.

The Water Ski Club and ski ramp are located on the eastern side of the park, however the area is closed to the general public for recreational water skiing.

A drive along Molonglo Reach offers a pretty introduction to Canberra for visitors.

The water is not suitable for swimming.

If you are holding an event, a booking or permit may be required.

Dogs are welcome on-leash in some areas of the park as outlined on the dog exercise area map. Dogs are prohibited from entering the water and at the water ski launch ramp. They are also prohibited within 10 metres of a public play space, fireplace or barbecue in use.
