Acton District Park

A scenic urban park set on Lake Burley Griffin

Acton District Park covers 10.4 hectares on the foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin’s West Basin.

You can enjoy a lake ferry ride, hire a small boat or take in the natural beauty all year. Acton Park is particularly popular in warmer months and has some protection from winds.

The park is on a cycle path, so you can enjoy a walk or ride before stopping for a picnic or barbecue.

On the eastern shoreline, you can fish from the vertical stone walls. There is also a sandy beach. The water is not suitable for swimming.

Dogs are welcome on-leash as outlined on the dog exercise area map and are prohibited within 10 metres of a public play space, fireplace or barbecue in use.
