Pierces Creek Forest

A pine plantation located near the Cotter precinct

Pierces Creek Forest is suitable for:

  • bushwalking on formed management trails
  • horse riding on formed management trails (though there are no facilities for float parking)
  • four-wheel driving on formed management trails (your vehicle must be registered)
  • trailbike riding (with a registered motorcycle) on formed management trails and single-track networks. We are working with rider groups to close unsuitable single tracks that are causing erosion and to approve new tracks before they are established.
  • cycling on formed management trails and single-track networks

A hidden gem in Pierces Creek Forest is Tidbinbilla Hut, located a short drive on unsealed forestry roads from the intersection of Paddy's River Road and Laurel Camp Road. Tidbinbilla Hut is an ideal 'sit-down and relax' picnic area for small groups.

Facilities such as toilets and barbecues are available at Murrays Corner.

A permit is required to use the forest for a large or commercial event.

Dogs are welcome on-leash.
